QUILTS AT THE HARBOUR 12 SHOW AND SALE

QUILTS AT THE HARBOUR 12 is coming up!! Quilters get ready!!
Announching the dates for Quilts at the Harbour 12
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26 from 10 to 6PM
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27 from NOON to 5PM
drop off quilts after 6PM and before 7:30 PM on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25
pick up after 4:30 on Sunday
viewers will be treated to a great show of quilts of all kinds as well as smaller items for sale such as wallhangings, wearable art and linens
there will be a wonderful and exciting gently used table of yard goods, books, patterns, notions, kits and so on
entrance is by freewill offering and refreshments are free
there will also be a pantry table
come enjoy a day out by the sea and view an historic heritage church and cemetery dating to the 1840’s
you will be greeted by friendly welcoming people who are keen to show you their built heritage and their handwork

Quilts at the Harbour 11 wrap up

Having kicked back for a couple of weeks or so I’ve finally gotten my figures pulled together. I want to thank Linda for her lovely comment about her trip up to Hall’s Harbour for the show – it reflects many comments received at the show by people who came from the Halifax Dartmouth area or from farther afield.
We raised about $750 for the church – our best so far, and also sold three full sized quilts and many smaller quilted items. The money raised will stay within our small community and the interest generated in our tourist destination area and in our local culture, reflects the win/win situation of practicing sustainable rural development.
I want to remind everyone that we will be holding a one day show on Friday July 1, 2010 called Celebrate Canada! in conjunction with the many Canada Day events in the community, and as usual, our two day Quilts at the Harbour 12 Show and Sale will take place on Saturday September 24 and Sunday September 25, 2010 both shows at the United Baptist Church on West Hall’s Harbour Road.
