Archive for June, 2010
I received a message from Anita regarding the availibilty of a Paragon Cross Stitch quilt from 1954 that she had made then and wants to find another one to make for an upcoming family birth. She is asking for my help in trying to source this kit for her, but when I responded to her email address the message bounced back to me because her inbox is full. Oh dear!
I’m hoping she may check back to this blog and see my response, which I will quote here:
“Good Morning Anita: I have seen that quilt kit but have never been able to acquire it for my inventory, although I am still looking. As far as I know, Paragon are now out of business and there are no obvious archives on the web that I can find. I have been trying without any luck to source price lists and advertising material from their active period – no success there either.
I do have in stock a Bucilla Youth Bed size 54×72 Jack and Jill, and a Progress/Tobin Crib sized of a slumbering child. Please check my post of August 11, 2009 for details.”
If you are reading this, Anita, please get back to me if you feel I can be of further help.
GIVEAWAY at http://www.funkybabymine.blogspot.com extended!!
Meanwhile, I have decided to extend my giveaway on http://www.funkybabymine.blogspot.com as I have too busy working on our upcoming quilt show to concentrate on spreading the word and listing inventory – therefore the same wonderful offer of a luscious prize for the winner and one for the runner up will continue through the entire month of July – so go on over to my sister site, that specializes in fine vintage linens and other funky and neat stuff - http://www.funybabymine.blogspot.com and check out how to qualify.
Also – don’t forget to attend Celebrate Quilts! in Hall’s Harbour on July 1!!! We expect lots of quilts and other items to be exhibited and for sale.
A lot has happened during the month that I didn’t post. Not the least is that summer in all its shades of green has arrived. Above is a picture taken of the entry to my quilt studio. The scrap wood piled up against the side of the house will be transformed into kindling for my winter fires. I have just gotten all my wood up from the driveway and piled neatly close to the house.
During the time that my blog was unavailable I concentrated on doing inventory and some listing for my new online shop which is now open for business. http://www.funkybabymine.blogspot.com specialises in fine vintage linens and other great old stuff and I invite you to take a peek. I’m ready now to start downsizing my holdings and will be adding new items on a daily basis. In order to encourage you to keep looking at my fresh listings on FunkyBabyMine, I am running a giveaway there during the entire month of June and this might just become a monthly habit! Check it out and see what you need to do in order to enter!
Also upcoming is our annual CELEBRATE QUILTS on CANADA DAY. This is a show and sale for quilt lovers taking place July the first in Hall’s Harbour, at the West Hall’s Harbour United Baptist Church at the corner of West Hall’s Harbour Road and Sullivan Road between 10AM and 6PM. Refreshments are included in your Free Will Offering and proceeds will go to support the church. A quilters’ “gently used” table is always a busy and popular spot. Mark your calendars now – and check out nearby communities in the valley that have activities and meals planned that day.
As soon as I get other features of this site up and running, look for more posts about my recent acquisitions in Vintage Quilt Kits. Until then, check out http://www.funkybabymine.blogspot.com and enter for the giveaway.
All for now!
