After having sorted out my wonderful but confusing bundle of vintage quilt kits and sold the two different Lee Wards Pansy kits to the customer they were promised to, I am left with this wonderful Bucilla double/queen vintage Dogwood Blossoms kit, #1587. The instruction sheet for embroidery embellishment of the appliques is included.
The printed white percale quilt top pieces are all present and accounted for and are in pristine condition. However, many of the applique pieces have been lost along the way. As you can see, enough are left to make templates and match colours. If I were making it (and I’m sorely tempted to!) I think I might consider using the lovely tone on tone batiks in Hoffman’s 1895 line to replace the appliques. A more conventional and accurate replacement can be found among the many colour choices available in the Kona solid colour range. Either will look stunning!
So hurry if you’re interested, before I decide to do this one myself! I’m asking $250 + $20 shipping for this one – $270 USD inclusive, and will ship immediately by airmail on receipt of your personal cheque.
!!!!!!!PRICE NOW REDUCED TO $185 USD + $20 shipping – total $205 USD for a limited time only.
